Freshman standout sprinter
Corey Carter will compete this weekend at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field National Meet which is being held in La Crosse, Wisconsin at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse.
Carter qualified for the NCAA DIII national meet in both the 100 and the 200 meter races with qualifying times of 10.64 and 21.51 seconds respectively. He is currently ranked 19th in the nation for both events, however, there are several people that have the same qualifying time as Carter, thus making him seem lower in the rankings than he really is.
First, Carter and head coach
Robert Baker will attend the pre-meet championship banquet with thousands of other athletes and coaches on Wednesday night. Then he will compete in the 200 meter preliminary race which is being held Thursday at 4:00 pm and then the 100 meter preliminary race on Friday at 4:30 pm. If Carter makes it to the finals, both of those races will be held on Saturday, with the 100 meter race at 1:30 pm and the 200 meter race at 2:40 pm. The top nine finishers in the preliminary races will advance to the finals, and the top eight finishers in the finals will be All-Americans.
