2015 Women's Tennis Roster
Biography
Senior Year (2015)
Kelly is excited for her final season of Principia tennis where she will compete at one or two singles and doubles. She will bring her tenacity, power, and consistency to the practices and to each match. Kelly returns for her third year as captain of the team where she provides strong leadership, compassion and integrity. Her work ethic, running for every ball and never giving up, inspires her teammates. Kelly helped lead the team to a SLIAC Conference Championship. She has received first team honors every year. Kelly is excited to work with this group of player and repeat as conference champions. Â
Junior Year (2014)
Kelly enters her third year on the team with a mixed commitment to tennis and her biology major. She will play both singles and double this year and will be a steady force in the middle of our line-up, but she has taken on a teaching assistant role in the biology department and has several commitments to the Biology Block courses. She will miss our spring break trip to California for a trip to the Caribbean to study with world renowned sea turtle expert Dr. Scott Eckert.  Kelly is looking forward to being a part of this year’s team and is working on improving her consistent serve and to changing her forehand. She seems destined to continue her run as a SLIAC First Team All Conference singles player. Kelly is a great practice partner and loves doing drills which prepares her to dig deep in matches and never give up. Kelly's sincerity and wholeheartedness enrich her teammates and provide a great example of being “Rock solid."
Sophmore Year (2013)
Kelly will be a key contributor to this year’s team as she was last year. She concluded the 2012 season as the Women’s Tennis Newcomer of the Year in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) and also the Player of the Year in SLIAC. Kelly improved her all court game and is now more comfortable at the net putting away volleys and overheads. Kelly will again play singles and doubles this year and we look for her to have a strong season and help Principia return to national competition.
Freshman Year (2012)
Kelly comes to Principia College tennis ready to make major contributions to the women’s tennis team. She played #6 singles and #3 doubles on her Plano, Texas high school tennis team. She trains outside of high school at T BAR M Racquet Club. Kelly is determined to improve her steady groundstroke game this year and to add net play into her repertoire.  Her years of experience have prepared her for Division III tennis. Kelly is a fierce and strong competitor and will play #1 Singles and #1 doubles for the team. We look for Kelly to dominate conference play and begin her journey to National recognition.
