"WOMEN'S SOCCER - DEFENSIVE"

Principia College's Cristina Post, a sophomore from Malibu, Calif. (The Principia School), has been named the Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of October 4-10.

Post, a defender who plays left back, played every minute of three games last week for Principia and helped her squad post two shutouts. She scored the lone goal for the Panthers in a 2-1 non-conference loss to Millikin University, while also tallying an assist in a 2-0 victory versus Greenville College. Principia went 2-1 on the week with a 6-0 shutout against Spalding University.

'Cristina [Post] was a dangerous player both offensively and defensively in each game last week,' commented head coach Lee Ellis. 'Against Greenville she was arguably the strongest player for us, making runs down the flank and creating a number of opportunities for Principia's attack, including assisting the first and game-winning goal. Defensively she helped shut down the Greenville attack, including a goal line clearance that helped preserve the clean sheet.'"
