Bloomington, IL- The Panthers traveled to Bloomington, IL to take on the Titans of Illinois Wesleyan in their first of the New Year. The Panthers were unable to capture the win from IWU, ultimately due to the depth of their team, but they fought to every wall and walked away with some fast swims.
Senior captain
Jenny Bailey continued her streak by capturing 1st in all her individual events. In the 50 free, Bailey swam to 26.32, and in the 100 free a 57.20. Again, Bailey captured the only top finishes for the women. Freshman
Laura Perry had a great meet grabbing season bests in her 200 free (2:56.71) and her 100 free (1:18.21). Freshman
Jenna Mehlenbacher swam her first ever 200 fly finishing with a time of 2:40.66.
With their first meet of the New Year under their belt, and their first since the end of sports camp, the Panthers fought hard with some fast swims. Principia swims next weekend at the Washington University Invitational in St Louis on both Friday Jan. 15th at 6pm and Saturday Jan. 16th at 11am. Without a doubt, we look to bring home some more improvements in the water and on the boards.
