More stiff competition for Principia College softball
Principia College Athletics
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Prin Softball faced some stiff competition in Wednesday's games falling 14-4 to Suffolk University of Boston in the first game. Principia jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with some timely hitting, but Suffolk's pitcher brought out a devastating change of speeds after the first inning that Prin's hitters could not handle.
The second game was a 7-1 loss to D2 Baron College of North Carolina. Principia played clean defense, but the Barton hitters found the gaps all day long.
Devon Harrison turned in a solid pitching performance with 64 strikes and 36 balls on 100 pitches including going 21 for 35 on first pitch strikes. In the bottom of the 7th
Karlin Krishnaswami came up with bases loaded and two outs and smoked a line drive but it was directly at the center fielder ending a solid Principia threat.
Prin takes on Arcadia University and Lycoming College for the final day of their Spring Trip today.
