Men’s tennis falls hard tonight to the #3 seed Webster University 9-0

ELSAH, ILL. -- After playing some great tennis this past weekend at the SLIAC individual's tournament, Principia Men's Tennis faced the #2 seed Webster University. Coming off a great weekend, with many Principia players beating their Webster opponents, it looked to be an exciting and close match.
However as doubles finished, Principia was down 0-3, losing all three doubles matches and an exhibition #4 doubles match. Needing to win at least five singles matches to beat Webster, Principia embarked on many individual match ups that Webster was looking to even the score on. At #2 singles
Todd Zimmerman beat his opponent this weekend, but fell today 6-1, 6-2. The match was close, however, with many long rallies back and forth, both players keeping the ball in play.
Kevin Hagenlocher, Principia's #3 singles player lost his match in a ten point tiebreaker, 6-1, 2-6 (7-10).
Tonight, the Panthers as a team just couldn't seem to finish a point, and therefore close on a match win. The Panthers have an opportunity for redemption tomorrow when they face Fontbonne University and hope to add another win to their record.
