ST. LOUIS, MO. -- Today the men's tennis team faced their toughest competition this season when they played number five ranked Washington University Bears. The matches started late due to stormy weather earlier this morning in St. Louis, however the Panthers were anticipating this great showing of what National Championship contention tennis looks like. The men held their own against this tough competition taking many games off their opponents.
While the Panthers lost the match 9-0, no singles or doubles match was lost without at least taking one game from their opponents. Some highlights include #4 singles
Brian Wold who lost the first set 6-0 but fought back, showing much determination but ultimately losing 6-3. #5 singles freshman,
Scott Ross, and #6 singles junior,
Ben Black, also came back from 6-0 loses in the first set to take two games in their second set.
Even though it was a tough day, Principia men look forward to conference competition Greenville College this Tuesday at home. The SLIAC conference is close this year and wins against Greenville will set Principia up for good seeding in the SLIAC individual's tournament this coming Friday and Saturday in St. Louis.
