Men’s tennis falls 1-8 to undefeated conference leaders Westminster College
Principia College Athletics
FULTON, MO. -- Principia is currently 1-1 in conference after falling today to the Westminster College Blue Jays. Westminster College is undefeated in the SLIAC conference this year, but Principia has just begun conference play after playing competitive NAIA, Division II, and Division III teams in the preseason.
The Panthers lost the match 1-8 but played close matches with Westminster. #3 singles
Kevin Hagenlocher won his match 6-0, 6-4. Hagenlocher really played well, maintaining focus and keeping his shots aggressive while also being smart. This is a good conference win for Hagenlocher to have under his belt, as he is undefeated in conference at #3 singles.
At #1 doubles Kalogeridis/ Hagenlocher played a close match. They kept balls in play and volleyed really well, forcing the other team to make the mistakes. The match was lost 9-7, which will leave this #1 doubles hungry to face the Bluejays again in the SLIAC conference individual's tournament.
The men play Washington University Saturday at 1:30 at the Wash U campus in St. Louis.
