Box Score 2 MYRTLE BEACH DAY 4 2014
Â
PRINCIPIA – 9                   ALBERTUS MAGNUS COLLEGE – 3
Â
This was another impressive display of the new found offensive power of this year's squad. They pounded out 16 more hits in this game and once again it went right through the line up as only 1 starter did not get a hit. Jessy MacMullin led the barrage going 4 for 5 including a double, a run scored and 1 RBI. Getting 2 hits in this game were
Christine Nacewicz,
Kelsey Whitney,
Casey Lee and
Tori Cheatham. Casey blasted a triple, Sam scored 2 runs and of course Kelsey got hit by another pitch.
Casey also did her thing on the mound again with another very solid performance. When the game got close in the middle innings she bore down and shut off the threat until the offense came back and put some more runs up on the board. She then closed things out with very efficient 6
th and 7
th innings.
The team also dealt with what could have been a huge distraction. Two teammates collided in center field and
Thanda Kyaw had to leave the game with an apparent injury. Her teammates together realized what perfect care Thanda was in and that she would want them focusing totally on the remaining few innings. That is exactly what they did and finished out the game with poise and efficiency.

SOUTHERN SUBURBAN JUNIOR COLLEGE – 6                     PRINCIPIA – 1
Â
There is only one way to describe this game and that is that the team just ran out of gas, physically and emotionally. The team they played is the same one they lost a close one to a couple of days ago. This time they saw the other team's number 1 pitcher and they did have some trouble with her. They could only muster 4 hits and that is so unlike the offensive numbers this team has been putting up this week. They also committed 5 errors on defense and that too is very uncharacteristic of how the team has played this week. The defense has been really solid.
Casey Lee completed a terrific day on offense by going 2 for 3 and hitting another double.Â
Christine Nacewicz hit rockets all day today and went 1 for 2 and scored the teams only run. Sam Bronkar got the teams other hit and put in another solid performance on the mound.
