February 01, 2015 2:16 AM // Men's Swimming and Diving

Thank you Josh Harmon

Josh, from Concord, CA, is in his 4th year on the team.  He is a sprinter and butterflyer and has been the anchor leg on many of our relays.  He has also been a team captain.  Josh has become the top sprinter in the history of men's swimming at Principia College.  He currently holds both the 50 and 100 Freestyle team records and is in the Top 10 of the 100 butterfly all time.  He has been a Liberal Arts Finalist in each of his previous three years in both the 50 and 100 free.  He also is part of numerous relay teams that are on the Top 10 list.  He is a computer science major and an avid photographer and videographer.

Josh has always brought an intensity and competitiveness to the team.  Going fast was the name of the game and hard work would get you there was what Josh lived by as a swimmer.  Whether in practice or meets, Josh gave it his all, gave it full gas until he had none left.  Over the years he learned to share and encourage that desire to work to your limits with the team both as an example and as a captain.

Josh's love for the team also came out in his regularly producing promotional videos about the team.  Two to three times a year he would merge his love of swimming and love of videography and produce short videos about the team.  Often they were just to promote the next meet but other times the team or swimming was the topic of a video for a class or even just his own desire to produce a short film.  He worked tirelessly and selflessly to use his talents to share with the campus and the world the great work and people that make up the swimming and diving team here at Principia.

Thanks for giving your all every day, it has been a great example.   Thanks for sharing all your talents and interests with us and for us.  Good luck in the future and we will miss you.
