Women's swim and dive barely lose double duel meet

Elsha, ILL-- Women's swimming and diving hosted Maryville University and Illinois College for today's meet.  Our women came very close to winning, three points off, yet lost the meet 94-97.  Nonetheless, we had many receive new season best times for their event. 

Kicking off the meet, our women's 200 medley relay team- Bailey Bischoff, Shelby Barner, Dani McKenzie, and Caroline Morales- came in second place with a time of 2:09.75.  Barner and Morales each earned season best for their 50 split in their respective stroke, Barner in breastroke and Morales in freestyle.  McKenzie placed first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 27.06 and placed third in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.84.  Hannah Schlomann swam the 200 yard freestyle and received a season best time of 2:36.79.  Taking on the 500 yard freestyle, Bischoff swam a season best with a time of 6:19.17.  Barner swam a third place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke for a time of 1:20.67.  Finishing the meet, our women's 200 yard freestyle relay-Schlomann, Elizabeth Hagenlocher, Bischoff, Barner- placed third with a time of 2:04.70.
 
Our two divers, after diving earlier in the morning at our home's diving invitational, each completed six dives on the one-meter and three-meter boards.  Annika Erickson won the one-meter and earned a new season best score moving her up to the sixth position on the top ten list.  Our divers were uncontested in the three-meter, in which Erickson placed first again but Caidi Gillett earned a new season best score.
 
Our women's next meet will be at Liberal Arts, February 12-14.
