PC softball fell to Highlanders in tough conference matchup

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 JACKSONVILLE, ILL. -- Principia softball fell to the MacMurray Highlanders after two tough 5 game innings.  The first game the Panthers lost 0-8 with no hits.  Ashley Shoemake earned 2 walks and this game marked the return of Kelsey Whitney after missing 2 double headers, so, of course she got hit by a pitch.

Game two the Panthers came out with a little bit of fire which resulted in Thanda Kyaw getting the lead off hit and scoring the team's only run.  AC McMullen got a hit and earned a walk.  Jessy McMullin continued her strong effort and play going 1 for 2 and her hit was a line drive double that bounced off the fence.  The team couldn't put together any more offense and MacMurray pulled away with the win, 9-1 after 5 innings.

The Panthers hope to step up their play in their next game which is at home this Saturday at 12:00 and 2:00 against Iowa Wesleyan College.  Come out to support your team!!!
