ELSAH, Ill. -- The Principia College Rugby team, The Thunder Chickens, took on the Ramblers from St. Louis for a season opening game on a beautiful sunny and breezy day. Both teams enjoyed the great day of rugby against good friends. The "A" team for Principia played first and tied 12-12 with the Ramblers. Once the "B" team was subbed in, the team worked through some challenge and fell 0-14.
The Thunder Chickens and the Ramblers both played hard for being so early in the season; this game gave the teams a chance to learn a lot and to see the work that they have yet to accomplish. Head coach
Ward Patterson comments, " We have work to do to get as good as we know we can be, but the overall outcome was that the men showed very good team work, and commitment to the excellence they are striving for."
