Women Lose to Hendrix in Sprint Dual Meet

ELSAH, IL – In a warm up to the Panther Invitational the next day, the women's swimming and diving team took on Hendrix College in a sprint dual meet.  The women lost 87 – 105 but competed in different events and enjoyed the quick pace of the meet. A number of women had outstanding meets but it was the fun atmosphere that ruled the day.

Senior Dani Mc Kenzie ruled the day with three lifetime bests.  She led off the 200 medley relay with a 33.10 50 Back split.  Next she went a 1:06.94 lifetime best in the 100 IM and capped the night with a win in the 50 fly with a 28.77 lifetime best.  Junior captain added a couple of lifetime bests of her own.  She split a 31.39 50 Fly in the 200 Medley relay for her first lifetime best of the night.  Her second came in the 50 Breast where she went 37.92.

Others that contributed with best times were freshman Gwen Battram in the 200 Free (2:42.35), sophomore Caidi Gillett with a lifetime best in the 1m-6 dive event (163.60), freshman Amanda Loudon in the 200 Free (2:36.44), junior Hannah Schlomann with a lifetime best in the 50 Breast (41.30) and sophomore Rachael Schueler in the 3 meter – 6 diver event (130.65).  Gillett added two wins to the women's side winning both the 1 meter and 3 meter diving events.

The team will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, January 23 as they host 9 other teams in the Panther Invitational starting at 1 pm.
