Box Score 1 |
Box Score 2 Myrtle Beach, SC. -- Keystone – 9                     Principia – 0Â
Not really sure where the Principia team we saw play yesterday was as it sure looked like a different team in this game. There wasn't much energy in their play and it showed in a weak defensive and offensive performance. Even though the game was close and a win was right there the team just couldn't click when it needed to. What little focus the team had early in the game vanished in the 6
th inning when Principia gave up 8 runs to allow Keystone to mercy rule them.
There wasn't much offense in this game but 6 players did get a hit and they were,
Leah Schaefer,
AC McMullen, Sam Bronkar,
Aleigha Russell,
Noelle Shoemake and
Tanya Marquardt.
Â
Principia – 5                       Morrisville – 3Finally the team put a more complete game together which after the disappointing morning game should tell you that this team has some pride.  Although they still made some lack of focus mistakes, they were able to regroup and get back on track.Â
Noelle Shoemake gets the win and she was strong all game notching 8 strike outs and only giving up 3 hits. Â Principia took a 2 run lead into the 7
th and this time put the game away after making 2 strong defensive plays to stop a Morrisville rally.
The offense got 8 hits today and also put a lot of other balls in play forcing Morrisville to make several tough defensive plays.Â
AC McMullen continued with the hot bat collecting 2 more hits as did
Leah Schaefer, and yes, one of Leah's hits was another triple.Â
Tori Cheatham had a triple in this game and
Ashley Noville, Sam Bronkar and
Tanya Marquardt all got one hit each.
