Elsah, IL. -- Principia eSports walk's away from their night of Hearthstone in full celebration after taking down both Purdue University and University of Notre Dame. After taking a loss in the first round last week, the team brought an intensity and focus this week that landed them wins in both of their matches.

The A-Team (
Nate Richards,
Michael McClelland,
Sammy Keyes) defeated University of Notre Dame in a decisive 3-0 victory after suffering a disappointing loss in their first match of the season last week. Though it hurt to lose in the first round, it propelled the team to practice with more focus and intention, and it showed in their commanding performance this week where they committed no unforced errors and shut down their competition with gusto.
The B-Team (
Robin Grindstaff,
Michael Coburn, Trent Easton) competed with presence of mind for the victory this week in a nailbiter against Purdue. The two teams battled back and forth evenly for the first four games, trading wins throughout the series bringing the best of five score to 2-2. In the fifth and final game Principia began to watch the win slip away as Purdue built a lead into the mid-game, but after playing to their win condition and some favorable luck, Principia mounted a comeback to win the game and the series 3-2.
