Thousand Oaks, CA -- After three days of enjoying the greater Los Angeles area, the Principia Men's Tennis Team played their first match of spring break against Cal Lutheran University. Cal Lutheran proved to be a tough test for the Panthers, as they came out and took all three doubles matches. Despite being down 3-0, Principia came out ready to play in singles, playing extremely tough agains their formidable opponent. Although the Panthers were unable to earn a win, they had quality performances from the 2, 3, and 4 spots in the singles lineups.
Jules Kitchingman and
Nat Kenworthy played two very competitive sets against high level opponents and the 2nd and 4th singles spots. At the 3rd singles spot,
Greg Sovie played extremely well, winning his second set and taking his match to a third set tiebreaker. Unfortunately, he fell 6-4, 4-6, 10-8, but proved his worth against the high level competition. All in all, the Panthers played well and improved a great deal throughout this match.
