Men's Tennis Falls in Final Spring Break Match

Orange, CA -- In the Panthers final match of Spring Break, they played Chapman University. Principia played well at times in the matches, but were unable to come through in the big moments to make much of a dent in the scoreboard. They fell 8-1 At 3rd doubles, Brody Swan and Peter Griswold played their best doubles match of the year. They saved multiple match points to force a tiebreaker where they took a 5-2 lead. Unfortunately they were unable to capitalize and fell 8-7 (6). After dropping all three doubles matches, Principia faced an uphill battle that was too tough to climb in singles. At 3rd singles, Greg Sovie had a masterful performance, and kept up his string of great play this year. Sovie won 6-2, 6-1 to give Principia their only point of the match. Other solid performances came from Nat Kenworthy at 4th singles and Brody Swan at 5th singles. Despite the loss, the Panthers leave Spring Break more battle tested and vastly improved. They look to carry this over into their SLIAC schedule which begins in a little over a week.
