Monday and Tuesday - Elsah, IL. -- Principia took on SUNY Canton and Lourdes University in the second to last week of their regular season. Grabbing one win and one loss this week puts them in prime position to lock in a playoff berth with their final matches next week.

The Panthers (
Kip Wadsworth, Trent Easton,
Michael McClelland) took down SUNY Canton on Monday with a quick 3-1 series, but fell 1-3 in a disappointing fashion to a much lower ranked Lourdes University on Tuesday. This week's matches were high pressure and high intensity. As the season comes to a close, the competition for advancing to the playoffs also grows. The Panthers are in a five-way tie for fifth place, with only the top eight teams advancing. Each win matters, and although the Panthers took an unfortunate loss to Lourdes, they still remain in the running. With the final matches of the season looming ahead, Principia is looking to put their foot down and show the league that they belong in the top eight. Next week's matches are do or die!

"It really, really stinks to lose to a team so much further down the rankings than us. But it's humbling, and I think it's motivated the team to practice more intentionally and with better focus this upcoming week to make sure we are ready to play our absolute best to close out the regular season."
