ELSAH, ILL.-- Men's Tennis faced Westminster in their final home match of the season and capped a historically dominant conference schedule. It was another opportunity to rest players and show the team's depth by getting nearly every senior both doubles and singles appearances. Unfortunately for
Jules Kitchingman only a freak accident on an attempt to catch an errant ball in the stands took him out of singles play, though he and
Nat Kenworthy had already teamed up for a quick 8-0 doubles win.
In a throwback move to a lineup not seen since 2017,
Brody Swan moved to the top doubles spot with
Greg Sovie. Despite going two years without any reps as a pair they put the final doubles point in the board with a routine victory.
Dan Wagstaff and
Peter Griswold also reappeared at 3
rd doubles and made quick work of the Blue Jays.
Not much changed in singles where the boys only dropped two games across six courts, and by the end of the day the Panthers had concluded their four SLIAC matches without losing a set. Sovie had the best day out of everyone, only losing an incredible three points through his entire match, including a "golden" first set in which he won every point.
Next up is Rose Hulman on Tuesday in Indiana. At 18
th in the central region, this is the Panthers' last chance to earn an ITA ranking with a win and final regular season contest before the conference tournament.
