LAKE FOREST, IL – The Principia Men's Tennis team traveled up to the Chicago area on Saturday to dual with Lake Forest College. Down a player, with
Jesús Soto Bossa out with injury, the Panthers adjusted upward to complete their roster and played a difficult match, losing 8-1 to the Foresters.
At #5 singles,
Rafter Sprague gave Principia its lone match win with a decisive 6-3, 6-1 victory: a personal best this season for Sprague. Although coming home with a loss, the Panthers competed solidly in every match. They went to deuce in many games across matches but came up short closing out the points. These are valuable lessons they are taking back to the practice court this week.
Up Next: The Panthers return home to play the Spartans of Missouri Baptist University on Tuesday at 5:30 pm in Hexberg.
