ELSAH, IL – Congratulations to Principia College alum, Amy Aleshire Krahenbuhl (C'07), on her selection to the 2026 SLIAC Hall of Fame class!
As a freshman at the College in 2003, Amy had arguably the best single season in SLIAC women's cross country history. Remarkably, she was a walk on that season without any prior competitive running experience.
Amy won the 2003 conference meet with what is still the fastest 6K in SLIAC championship history (21:15), and was named SLIAC Runner of the Year and Freshman of the Year. Amy went on to place third at DIII Midwest Regionals in Wisconsin to earn All-Region and qualify for DIII Nationals. Then at the national meet in Indiana, she finished sixth overall to earn All-American honors with the highest national finish ever by a SLIAC woman.
Amy dealt with various injuries after 2003 and was unable to duplicate the success of her historic freshman season, but she remained a strong leader on the team the next three seasons and eventually fought her way back to have a bounce-back senior year. She currently lives in Santa Barbara, California with her husband and three kids.
