Heather Libbe

  • Class Senior
  • Hometown Perrysburg, OH

Biography

Junior Year (2010)
Heather is an inspiration to all. She provides all the team members with exceptional support both on and off the court, and does an excellent job in leading others to reach their potential. Heather loves competition and thrives during our match-filled Hilton Head trip and Spring season. During the fall, Heather runs Cross Country and comes to us in great shape for our winter training season.  Look for Heather near the top of the line up and expect great things from her again this year.

Sophomore Year (2009)
Heather returns for her second year a much improved player. Watch for Heather in the top half of the line-up for singles and doubles. Heather already has a good competitive attitude. With more work on some technical aspects and strategic options, Heather will see improvement in her game.

Freshman Year (2008)

The lone freshman on the varsity roster, Heather could easily step into a starting position. Heather plays calmly, methodically and with a lot of confidence and is a great addition to the line-up.

Prep/Personal

1. When did you start playing Tennis and what level (Club, Y, and middle school?)
I started playing tennis when I was very young (around 6??) but then took some time off and started again in high school. My freshmen year of high school I played JV and Varsity the next three - played summer club and did a lot of clinics...joined the team my freshmen year & my team qualified for Nationals my freshmen year and got to go to TN which was awesome

2. What is your favorite Tennis Memory?
Team dinners at Lyn's house or meals on the road at TGIFs or Q'doba/Chipotle....something involving food; we had a really funny encounter with a drunk guy at TGIFs (though that might not be appropriate) uhhhhhh - I like the ball machine a lot ooooo perhaps it would be meeting our opponents -- lots of AWESOME tennis girls from G-ville and Webster who have become friends with...it's awesome to be able to hang out with them off the court and then have healthy competition on the court -- I've had some solid opponents...THAT'S my fav tennis memory

3. Who is your favorite professional tennis player?
    I actually don't really watch pro-tennis..............am I a bad person??? ;) I loved Pete Sampras

4. What is your favorite kind of music?
Music with a good dancing beat or relaxing soundtracks

5. What is your favorite kind of food?

India/Nepali, Mexican and Italian + anything sweet ():)

6. What is your favorite movie?
"Love Actually," "Eat Pray Love" --- pretty much anything with love ;)

7.If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
Monkey --- so, so cute and they have a LOT of fun

8.What is your favorite quote?
I am obsessed with quotes, so this is NOT a good question!! Hardest thing I've done all day --- how 'bout: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." -Eleanor Roosevelt  ...I'll probably think of a better one tomorrow sooooooooo I'll keep you posted

9.What do you think you will be doing and where in 10 years?     Who knows!!! But I'm excited to find out :)

10.What are your nicknames and why?
Heath Lib/HLib/Libs/Libbers (hopefully self-explanatory ;)); Red Hott - from my freshmen year thought up by Ashley Ragnow; KerMITT -- from last year because I have a massive green tennis bag and bright green gloves and Katie Sydness once said, "Get over here, Kermitt" and thought it was HI-larious....hadn't been used before and hasn't been used since, so it's basically making fun of her

11.What do you love best about the best sport in the world - Tennis?
For me, the game of tennis is about 85% mental...being able to keep yourself composed is huge & such a useful tool. There's definitely a lot of thought that goes into the game and persistence, as well. Even though it might seem like you're out there on the court by yourself, you're still part of a team and it's really fun to support each other.
