Biography
Senior Year (2013)
Sarah spent fall of 2012 on the Greece and Turkey abroad and returned to play basketball but not tennis in her Junior year. She is happy to return to tennis courts this spring season after she finishes her fourth year of basketball. Sarah was the SLIAC Player and Newcomer of the Year in 2010. She plays so well it is as if she never took time off from her tennis. She plays a forcing game, using her strong ground strokes to set up volley winners. Sarah is a leader and a co-captain of this year’s team. She will help the team to focus and return to the winning ways of her sophomore season. With Sarah’s dedication to this year’s team we expect a return to the national competition.
Sophomore Year (2011)
Sarah had a tremendous freshman season; she was undefeated in conference play in both singles and doubles. She concluded the 2010 season as the Women’s Tennis Newcomer of the Year in the St Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) and also the Player of the Year in SLIAC. Sarah has a strong all court game, is very quick moving around the court, and has fast reflexes with her volleys. She especially enjoys forcing the play and finishing her points at the net.
Freshman Year (2010)
Sarah comes to us as a freshman from Ballwin, MO with a very strong tennis background. She played in many USTA sanctioned tournaments as a junior player and also plays the role of leading scorer on the Principia College Women’s Basketball team. In the fall of Sarah's freshman tennis season, she won two rounds of singles in the Women's Wilson ITA Regional tournament held at DePauw University. Of Sarah's many strengths, her movement and quick reaction time is continually impressive. She excels in competition and is very tough mentally.
1.) When did you start playing tennis and why?
When I was seven or eight because my mom had just started playing and she thought it was fun, so she signed me up for some neighborhood group lessons.
2.) What do you love most about playing tennis?
I love working a point, and putting the ball away with a winner.

Hobbies? Don’t really have any right now … school/sports keeps me busy
