Biography

Senior Year (2015-2016)
Joey leads this year’s team into the 2015-2016 season as the most seasoned player on the squad. Joey brings a sharp and consistent all-court game to the table.  He had a great fall season, which he followed with his final basketball season, and has picked up right where he left off. Look for Joey to compete for conference Player of the Year this season, while leading the team from the top of the lineup.

Junior Year (2014-2015)
Joey joins the team this year after taking on a new challenge. This year, Joey decided to play basketball in the winter, and he hopes to pick up tennis where he left off in the fall. Last season, Joey earned 1st Team All Conference at 1st Doubles and 2nd Singles. Joey is a tremendous counter puncher and has made strides to become a more offensive player as well. We will look for Joey to jump right into the tennis season and find his form quickly, as he is an integral component to our team.

Sophomore Year (2013-2014)
Joey had a remarkable freshman season, and will be looking to make even greater strides as a sophomore. In his freshman year, Joey received 1st Team All Conference at 2nd singles, Honorable Mention All Conference at 1st doubles, and also was Newcomer of the Year in the SLIAC. Joey made it to the 3rd round of the ITA singles tournament in the fall, and has grown as both a player as well as leader over the past year. Look for Joey to be a consistent force towards the top of our lineup all season long.

Freshman Year (2012-2013)
Joey hails for Camarillo, CA. He is a ranked USTA player with a strong baseline game and transitions well to the net. We look forward to Joey making a positive impact on our team this year and becoming a force in SLIAC tennis.

When did you start playing tennis and why?
I started playing tennis when I was just a little kid because it was fun.

What do you love most about playing tennis?
I love playing tennis because of the feeling I get when I am striking the ball well and playing my best.
