Biography

Senior Year (2018-2019)
Dan is a senior playing in his last season as a Panther.  Dan’s contributions in both singles and doubles have helped lead his team toward defending the conference title for the past 3 years. This year will be no different. Last season, Dan earned the SLIAC 2nd team All-Conference at #5 singles and helped secure the team’s 5th straight conference championship. This season, Dan will see action at both singles or doubles wherever he is needed. His game is one of the most powerful on the team, pushing our top guys to play their best to get past him.  Dan has been accepted at Pepperdine University to continue his graduate work after he graduates this year. 

Junior Year (2017-2018)
An Ohio native, in his 3rd season as a Panther, Dan brings a willing heart and strong commitment to help the team continue to bring out their A games.  When Dan’s A game comes out, he can stand toe to toe with the best of them. In his past 2 seasons as a Panther, Dan held the #6 and #5 singles spots and #3 doubles position, last season earning him the SLIAC 1st team all singles honors at #5.  Dan will likely be alternating at the #6 singles position, and may see some doubles action at #3. 

Sophomore Year (2016-2017)
Dan probably hits the hardest forehand of the group. And when it goes in not even the toughest player in Division III can overcome it. That fact was witnessed at the ITA tournament at Kalamazoo last fall in a match against the defending champion.  An Ohio native, Mr. Wagstaff enters his sophomore year as a Panther, and will be instrumental in the lineup.

Freshman Year (2015-2016)
Dan joins us from Western Reserve Academy, where he predominantly played doubles for his high school team.  He has a big forehand a solid hands at the net.  Dan has great potential and has already shown signs of becoming a solid collegiate player.  Look for him to battle for a spot in the lineup this season.

1.) When did you start playing tennis and why?
When I was about 4, because my whole family plays.

2.) What do you love most about playing tennis?
The strategy.
