Biography

Senior Year (2018-2019)
Julian joins the men’s team for his 4th and final season as a Panther. His contributions have earned him a number of accolades including SLIAC “Newcomer of the Year“ in 2016, “Player of the Year” in 2017, as well as nods for SLIAC “Player of the Week” during his career.  Jules has remained extremely versatile holding roles at #1st singles, #2 Singles, # 1 Doubles, #2 Doubles and #3 Doubles.  His contributions this season will be no less essential no matter where he plays. Julian is one of the most tenacious players on the squad, and one of the most difficult for anyone to compete against and win. 

Junior Year (2017-2018)
Jules also returns as a strong anchor to the men’s team at the top of the playing roster. Now a tennis veteran for Principia College earning SLIAC’s Player of the Year honor along with 1st team all singles at #1 last season, as well as 1st team all doubles at #2.  Kitchingman’s tenacious style of play is sure to help the team secure many needed singles match points this year again near the top of the roster.  Jules born in New Zealand, hails from Melbourne, Australia.

Sophomore Year (2016-2017)
Jules also returns as a strong anchor to the men’s team. Now a tennis veteran for both Principia high school (#1 singles), and today as a college sophomore, Jules brings a very tenacious talent to the group. Kitchingman is sure to play at or near the top of the line up again.  At the SLIAC conference championships last season, Jules’ clutch singles match win pushed the Panthers across the line to win the conference title.  He joins us from Melbourne Australia.

Freshman Year (2015-2016)
Jules has joined this year's team all the way from Australia, and has already brought quick-witted humor and a desire to improve his game. He is quick on the court as well, with a remarkable ability to chase down balls that often seem out of reach.  Jules hits heavy ground strokes and is able to finish points at the net, making him an immediate impact player for this year's squad.

Fun Facts:

1.)  When did you start playing tennis and why?
I started when I was 5, my whole family are tennis nutters so they got me into it and it is a popular sport in Australia.

2.)  What do you love most about playing tennis?
It is fun to work on different shots and rewarding to see when you make them in a match.
