Biography
Junior Year (2017)
Gracie is coachable and yearns to improve and demonstrate her skills. This past summer, Gracie taught tennis at camp, and found herself sounding a lot like Coach Carney, which will always warm a coach’s heart. Gracie has consistently been a source of joy and light for this team, bringing positive energy as well as strong work ethic. She has the right balance of fun and focus. It has been a pleasure having Gracie on the team the last two years, and we are so thrilled to move her into the starting line-up this season.
Sophomore Year (2016)
Gracie loves tennis and is becoming a true student of the game. She enjoys learning from the wisdom of her teammates is simultaneously always aware of their needs. She could be categorized as the most compassionate player on the team. Her skills and tennis IQ are improving on a daily basis. She is an earnest teammate and competitor. Gracie is working to be more consistent and balanced in all areas of her life and the tennis team is a great avenue to improve these life skills. She is a joy to have on the team, committed to supporting each member and always ready with an encouraging remark or hug.
Freshman Year (2015)
Gracie is looking forward to upping her game for collegiate competition. She played on her high school team all four years and showed marked improvement each year. Gracie has a strong serve and big forehand and likes to hit hard. She was a dual athlete in high school where she was also captain of the swim team. Gracie loves the game of tennis and she is excited about improving her skills and contributing to this year’s team.Â

1.) Â When did you start playing tennis and why?
I started playing tennis at a young age with my father. We spent the summers playing in our tennis court by our home and it wasn't until middle school years that I started playing competitor.Â
2.) Â What do you love most about playing tennis?Â
The thing I love about tennis the most is how relaxed I feel and the sense of accomplishment I have every ball hit. But here at Principia college my absolute most favorite thing is the girls I get to work with every day on the team.
