Senior Year (2019)
Hallie will be taking time off a good portion of the pre-season to focus on her studies (she has 2 majors and 2 minors she will complete in 4 years), but she is still an important member of our team. She did an excellent job of leading our team last year and had a great run as our captain. She has been part of our team for the previous three years, and the Principia College women’s tennis appreciates her hard work, dedication, and her enveloping smile. She takes great care with the new recruits and she handles difficulties on the team with abiding grace. Hallie has become more consistent each year and her big forehand sets up moments to close out points at the net. She has been a wonderful team captain and we are so grateful to have had her with us these past few years. We wish her all the best in her academics, and we are so glad she is making time for practices a few times a week in the pre-season. We are fortunate to have such a strong young woman on the courts to help support the team in any way she can.
 
Junior Year (2018 )
Hallie will step into the captain’s role this year.  She has worked hard each year and this year she will be an integral part of the team.  She will play in the top positions on the team.  She has a powerful serve and forehand.  This season she will work on steadiness.  She has a strong work ethic which she will use to inspire and lead the team.
 
Sophomore Year (2017)
Hallie worked hard last season to improve her game and the desire and dedication will see her move into the starting line-up. Hallie hits her groundstrokes and serves with power that leaves her opponents awestruck. This season, Hallie will continue to grow in her understanding of tennis strategy. Hallie is an uplifting and caring joy to have on the team, and we are thrilled she is joining us for another fun-packed season.
 
Freshman Year (2016)
Hallie played #4 singles and #2 doubles for the Upper School varsity team and had the most wins her senior year.  She was also captain!  This year, her goal is learning how to think more strategically about the game and to improve her technical skills. She brings a lovely sense of joy and support to her teammates. Within that calm, clear mentality there is an explosive offense. It will be exciting to see her improvement this year.


Fun Facts:

1.)  When did you start playing tennis and why?
I started playing tennis in first grade with my dad but after second grade I stopped playing and didn't pick it back up until my freshman year of high school. I played it with my family as more of a family activity, especially since my dad is a tennis coach. And at Principia Upper School we have sport requirements, so at first I played for the credit but then I fell in love with it. 
 

2.)  What do you love most about tennis?
I love the competitiveness of it. You can play with people much better or worse than you and still give them a good game. It’s fun because you can play with anyone - as a family or a team. And it is a sport you can play your whole life.
