Biography
Junior (2018)
Ava Lesko is a junior who is exceptionally excited to run for the Principia cross country team. Ava ran cross country for Principia the past two years and she is excited to give to the team and actively practice Christian Science this season. When not at Principia, Ava resides in Pennsylvania with her mother, father, and younger sister. She is a chemistry major and sustainability minor and loves spending time in lab, learning about all things science, and is passionate about the environment. Ava is also the first reader for CSO, a Resident Assistant, a member of PAC board, and chemistry club president. In her spare time, you can find Ava trying new muffin recipes, nerding out about the periodic table, finding the perfect hammock spot, skiing, or studying metaphysics.
1.) When did you start playing your sport and why?
I started running cross country in middle school, but came back to it freshmen year of college. I joined because I was attracted to the bubbly personality and concrete spirituality of the team. I also wanted to challenge myself in a new way!
2.) What do you love most about your sport?
I love the perfect union between grit and grace that is demonstrated in distance running – it makes for excellent opportunities for radical reliance on Christian Science!
