Biography

2020-21 Season
Lydia is a senior from St. Louis, Missouri. This is her fourth year on the team, and she is excited to step into her role as one of the senior leaders. This year is exciting for her 100 breast stroke. After finishing with the 2nd best time for the school record, her goal is to make it up onto the record board for the 100 breast this season. She is also looking forward to doing well with her 100 freestyle. She hopes to make the most of her senior year and end on a high note inside and outside of the pool.
 
2019-20 Season
Lydia is a junior from St. Louis, Missouri. This is her third year on the team, and this year she is taking on the role as one of the captains. Lydia hopes to continue improving her 100 breast stroke time, and also swimming other sprint events, such as the 100 freestyle. She is excited to have such a big team this year with so much potential for achievement. It will be a season of hard work and going above and beyond what is expected.

2018-19 Season
Lydia Pierce is a sophomore math major from St. Louis, Missouri. She has been swimming almost her entire life on a summer league swim team and throughout her high school years. Lydia looks forward to swimming her favorite events, the 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard freestyle. She is so excited that there are so many members on the team this year because it is sure to lead to a successful season.


2017-18 Season

Lydia Pierce is a freshman from St. Louis, Missouri. She has been swimming most of her life and was on high school team for four years before coming to Principia College to join this team. Her main events are freestyle and breaststroke. She is looking forward to getting to bond with the team and improve her times this season.


1) When did you start swimming or diving and why?
I started swimming when I was three or four years old along with my older sister. We joined our neighborhood summer league swim team at the same time. I continued doing that every year and it led to my participation in high school and college swimming.

2) What do you love most about swimming or diving?
I love that there are really no limits to how much you can grow. The situation is always the same, it is just up to you to swim faster. I also love how it is always exciting, all the time, I am getting closer to beating a time.
