Biography

Sophomore Year (2020-21)
William joins the team in his second season as a Panther. His growth from last season is evident and he will look to prove that this spring. William always brings a fresh spiritual perspective to the brotherhood, as well as a desire to improve as a competitor. Big W, as he is affectionately known, fills an important role in this team’s future. William will have many opportunities to contribute in doubles and singles this season.

Freshman Year (2019-20)
William joins the team as freshman from Principia Upper School and will immediately contribute in the lineup at 5th singles and 3rd doubles. William can rip his forehand, and on the doubles court he will help lead the greatly feared "MVG" with his volleys. As the first freshman to join the program in two years, William provides a positive and joyful presence that is widely appreciated by the rest of the old guys, senior citizens, and retirees who inhabit Hexberg these days. His growth as a player is evident even early in the spring season, as his practice performance and level of match play have steadily risen since the fall. We look forward to welcoming William to his first collegiate tennis season.

Fun Facts:
1. When did you start playing tennis and why?
I started playing full time tennis as a freshman in High School. Before that I was playing tennis and hockey and I chose tennis because I loved it more and it hurt less.

2. What do you love most about tennis?
I love tennis because it’s like chess but you still get to hit something.
