Biography

Junior Year (part 2) (2020-21)
Juan continues with the Panthers in his second season in the top half of the lineup. A countryman of Daniel from Colombia, Juan brings an electric game of steady skill for both singles and doubles. Juan brings a peaceful presence to our brotherhood by sharing a sense of calm and natural joy with everyone, along a mighty competitive strength when he’s on court. His contributions will be appreciated this year.

Junior Year (2019-20)
Juan comes to Principia from Columbia, and will be relied upon in the middle of the lineup at #4 singles this season. He joins Daniel Gomez at #2 doubles, a pairing that features one of the great year-to-year turnarounds of on-court chemistry in the country. Juan's presence on the team is appreciated by everyone and can be described like his game - steady and consistent. Juan is currently working on his vocal amplitude to be ready for pregame huddles when called upon.

Fun Facts:
1.)  When did you start playing tennis and why?
I've been playing tennis since I was 7. My grandpa always encouraged me to play sports because he was also an athlete. I tried many sports but when I started playing tennis it genuinely became a passion.

2.)  What do you love most about tennis?
It's a complete sport, requiring speed, strategy, skill, physical and mental strength, and quick decision-making.
