Biography

2016 Season (Senior Year)
Kelsey has been putting in work outside of practice and we expect it come into fruition during this season. She has years of experience behind the plate as a vocal leader, therefore, we have only high expectations for her. She is a powerhouse at the plate and behind the plate, so expect to see the ball jump off her bat. We also expect to use her at first base part time, when she is not behind the dish.

2015 Season (Junior Year)
Kelsey’s game behind the plate took a big leap forward last season as she provided really strong receiving for our pitching staff and loud, accurate vocal instructions for the infield.  While she will be primarily behind the plate Kelsey can play 1st base when we need her to.  Look for this to be a break out year for her offensively.  Everything is there, strong fundamental swing, good pop in her bat and the ability to hit the ball hard to all fields.

2014 Season (Sophomore Year)
Kelsey carried a huge workload last season as a freshman catcher having been behind the plate for all but a few games.  Look for her solid defensive play to be even better this year as she now knows what the competition is like.  Kelsey also has some pop in her bat having finished second on last year’s team for extra base hits so look to see her driving the ball into the gaps.

2013 Season (Freshman year)
Even though this is her first year, Kelsey is looking to be a vocal leader as the team’s primary catcher.  She also would also love to establish myself as a hitter on the team, brining aggression and confidence to the plate.  Although she is a freshman we expect big things out of Kelsey this year.

When did you start playing softball and why?
I started playing softball when I was 4 years old. Both of my sisters played softball and my brother played baseball. My family grew up going to Dodgers games, so I was always around the game. My first team was called the Tidal Waves and I just fell in love with the sport.

What do you love most about softball?
My favorite thing about the game is the bond created within each team. Every team I have been on has been different. There’s something about a field of individuals working together as one that makes the game so special.
