2017 Season (Senior Year)
This is Sam’s fourth season with the team. Sam’s metaphysical contribution holds a strong presence on the team, and precedes all of her action. Throughout her years on the team she has been very versatile from pitching, to short stop, to third base, to catching. This year, we look forward to seeing Sam hold down one position in the infield with her quick glove and knowledge of the game. On offence, Sam has been a solid contributor to our line up, and this year we will continue to see Sam drive the ball into the gaps as well as lay down the nicest bunts to move the runners around the bases.

2016 Season (Junior Year)
Sam is the definition of a team player, seeing as though she will do anything to help out. She was a big help last year as a pitcher, and will be helping out behind the plate this year, as well as in the infield. She is fully capable of playing almost any position on the field, making her an invaluable member of the team.  

2015 Season (Sophomore Year)
Last year Sam stepped in to be our #2 pitcher when an unexpected transfer occurred just before the start of the season.  Despite minimal experience she developed the ability to consistently throw strikes and give our #1 pitcher a reduced load.  This season Sam is our #1 and she is on a ‘mission’.  She now has 4 pitches she can throw for strikes and her velocity is up significantly from last season.  When she isn’t pitching look for Sam at 3^rd or 2^nd as she is a very capable infielder.  After finding out last season what hitting college pitching takes, look for Sam to be an important part of our offense.

2014 Season (Freshman Year)
Sam personifies team player in the way she is so willing to do whatever the team needs.  She has stepped in to help the team out on the mound without even flinching.  She is really versatile too as she can play some infield and some outfield positions.  It’s been a couple of years since Sam played but the rust is coming off fast and she will certainly be a big help to the team.

Fun Facts:

1.) When did you start playing softball and why? 
I started playing softball when I was in first grade. I recall being a ballerina at the time, and after only a few weeks, I found that it wasn't for me. I tried playing softball and loved it!

2.)  What do you love most about playing softball? 
I love the mental demands of the game. You can't lose focus for a second--it could mean losing the game. At the same time, you can't hold on to your mistakes. I'm constantly striving to live fully in the now to best support my teammates play the game we love.
