Zachary Matthiesen is an enthusiastic and eccentric runner, going into his senior year full of possibilities. He has a brother named Elliott who plays tennis at Principia, a dog named Hershey and parents Sean and Ann Matthiesen. Zach enjoys playing Cuphead on his computer, watching YouTube videos of bling road bicycles, playing the viola once in a while and sorting garbage as Eco-Head of Lowery House. After school, Zach plans to work somewhere as a software engineer, provided his car remains functional.

What do you love about the Track and Field team?
I love the dedication, empathy and spiritual stubbornness of Principia's Track and Field team.

What do you want to accomplish as an athlete?
I would like to run a perfect race.

How do you balance athletics with academics?
I limit my semester hour workload to 12 semester hours, and I do not have a job.
