Amy Mayo is a freshman who is excited to be running on The Principia women's cross country team. Amy has run cross country all four years of high school and is looking forward to running, giving, and spending time with the team this season! While she is not at Principia, Amy lives in Fairbanks, Alaska, and likes to run, ski, bike, hike, cook, and hang out with her mother, father, older brother, and twin sister. Amy is so happy to be running on the team and looks forward to the many opportunities to grow this year! 
 
1) Why did you choose to run cross-country and what is your favorite thing about the sport? 
I love running because it is very relaxing and calming to me, and I enjoy how we are able to grow as a team through running and give to so much to each other and the community around us. 
 
2) What are some of your favorite things? 
I love peanut butter chocolate ice cream, watching cooking shows on television, baking with my friends, studying at coffee shops, and watching sports. One of my role models in sports is Jessie Diggins, a professional cross country skier, because she is always so happy to share what she loves with everyone. I think my dream job would to do anything that involves working outside and connecting people.
