Katie Wood, Track and Field

Katie is a sophomore this year and is so excited to run at Prin for a second year. Last year she did Cross Country and Indoor/Outdoor Track. This season, Katie is expecting to run the 800 and mile. Katie is majoring in Biology and if you ever see her around campus you should ask her to identify the trees for you. Some of the many reasons Katie loves running Cross Country and Track are because she likes running, being outside, and becoming friends with everyone on the team. When not at Prin, Katie lives in Colorado with her wonderful family. She loves to go on hikes, cook, read, and watch movies with her family. Katie can't wait for the season to start and see everyone do amazing in the meets. 

1.)  When did you start playing your sport and why?
I started running Cross Country when I was a freshman in high school because I wanted to try something new and enjoyed running. This lead me to try out Track as well.
2.)  What do you love most about your sport?
I love the growth and progress that everyone on the team experiences. I love the team. Everyone is so supportive and it feels like a huge family.

Movie? About Time, Napoleon Dynamite, and Bridget Jones' Diary
TV Show? Parks and Recreation, Gilmore Girls, and New Girl
Food?  Dark chocolate, bell peppers, avocados, and strawberries
Restaurant?  Chipotle is my favorite chain, but in Denver Colorado there's this amazing restaurant called Watercourse foods. 
Hobbies?  Playing the violin, cooking, hiking, backpacking, reading, and watercolor painting
Dream Job? I would love to have a job working outside and preferably in the mountains. I think it would be amazing to be a teacher for an outdoor education program or to be a research biologist studying trees, plants, and ecosystems.
