Sophomore Year (2019)
This season Anais takes on the role of team manager. Her work as a support for Coach Shannon and the team will be a huge help. Anais played a significant role in supporting the team as a freshman. She was a part time starter but accepted her role with grace. She worked hard in practices to improve her game and often practiced on her own time to improve her serve.  She has a strong forehand and good volley.  She brings a steadiness and strong resolve to the team including her quick wit. This year Anais will contribute her contagious laughter and perseverance to lift the team to new heights from a new perspective as a manager rather than a player. Her love of the sport has not wavered, and she is excited to help contribute to the team in a new way. She has taken on this position with grace and a positive attitude which has improved the team atmosphere at practices.


Freshman Year (2018)
Anais loves tennis and is looking forward to improving her skills. She played on her high school team a couple of years and looks forward to playing for Principia College.  She has a great team spirit and is very supportive of her teammates. She is a leader and will help guide the team with humor and poise.

1.) When did you start playing tennis and why? In 8th grade. I wanted a change of scenery because I had done all kinds of sports up until then and never stuck with them. Tennis intrigued me and once I picked up a racquet I never put it down.

2.) What do you love most about tennis? What I love most about tennis is the game. Obviously, that is what everyone loves, but what I love is the competition. The drive to do well and the effort that goes into a match brings so much satisfaction once it is over, whether I win or lose. Knowing how much I have put into the game itself, is reward enough for me and brings me so much joy. 3.)
