Tara is in the second semester of her freshman year at Principia College and is interested in Political Science, Global Studies, and Spanish. She started running in middle school and this love of running has served her well since then, both on the soccer field and on the track. Tara is the youngest in her family and looks forward to any chance she gets to spend time with her older brother and sister. She participates in Moot Court and is president of her house. Her room is as warm as it is back home in Texas, she has a dog named Elle named after Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, and she can’t wait for a phenomenal track season.

What do you love about the Track and Field team?
I love how metaphysically grounded and supportive the entire team is. Our talks on long runs never fail to inspire me, and it is amazing how such a diverse range of interests can be unified through the track program.

What do you want to accomplish as an athlete?
As an athlete, I want to model what it means to give unselfishly and let God be glorified. To me that means running with grit and grace, looking to constantly progress, staying present in the race, and pushing myself in order to honor my competitors and teammates alike.

How do you balance athletics with academics?
I use my time efficiently and do a lot of scheduling. Also, a good run is the perfect study break!
