Top Conference Team Westminster Slides Past Prin Men 85-67

(Elsah, IL - Jan. 12, 2010)  Principia hosted the conference's best team tonight.  At the end of the night, Westminster College remained undefeated in conference play with an 85-67 victory.  But Prin did not make it easy for Westminster.  Westminster began the second half with a 45-33 lead but the Panthers started the first 1:30 of the second half with an 11-0 run bringing them within one.  Prin kept pace with Westminster until about 4:00 left in the game.

Prin held the Westminster's top scorer, Stanley Crawford, to just 5 points but Jake Vislay, Briton Rudd, and Ky Millard had 17, 16, and 14 points repsectively.  Principia was outrebounded 40-30 but this biggest edge came at the freethrow line.  Westminster made 19-31 freethrows while Prin was only 5-7 at the line.

The Panthers were lead by Stuart Waller's 15 points on 5-7 shooting from beyond the arc.  Prin shot nearly 73% from the 3-point arc in the first half.  They lead the conference in 3-point shooting.
