Lady Panthers fall to Spalding; 48-62

The Lady Panthers stunned Spalding with its tenacious defense during the first eight minutes in the ball game, holding them to 6 points, and Prin with 12. The Lady Panthers fought hard and found more offensive rhythm in the first half, than the second half. Though Spalding towards the end of the first half made a run, with Kelly Reed and Lauren Harrod of Spalding hitting shots consistently. At half-time, Principia was down by 10 points, 19-29.
Notable stellar defense was played all game by senior Lyndsay Eaton, freshmen Sarah Corbitt, and sophomore Lindsay SydnessLindsay Sydness also finished with 9 points and 13 rebounds. In the later part of the game freshmen Jocelyn Shoemake made a strong move to the basket and finished for two.
Freshman Sarah Corbitt turned up the heat in the last portion of the game, snagging two steals in a row and converting on one of them. Fending off two defenders and putting the ball between her legs for the fast break attack, Sarah is surely stunning to watch.
