The Lincoln Lynxs out swum the Principia Panthers

ELSAH, ILL. -- On Saturday, November 13th the Principia College Panthers welcomed the Lynxs of Lincoln College to their home pool and turned in some great performances. The Lynxs, having a bigger team, took the win 185-44. What the score doesn't reflect is that the team swam amazingly well and left the pool with multiple lifetime and season best times.

The men started off well with the first event of the meet - the 200 medley relay. Tyler Loechner (SO), Will Crowley (SR), Andy Furbush (SO), and Colin Clark (SR) took second with a time of 1:43.82. Chip Jackson (SO) got 4th in the 1000 free with a good time of 12:18.81. In 200 free. Crowley got 3rd with the time of 1:55.67 and Brent Bennett (FR) earned 4th place with the time of 2:17.36. Furbush and Brandon Edwards (FR) swam the 50 free getting 4th and 5th. Furbush swam a 23.79 and Edwards got a seasonal best with a 27.61. Loechner swum the 400 IM, not a favorite event for many, but finished 3rd in 4:45.75, a great time for his first attempt at the event. Nick Trapp (SR) got two seasonal bests in the 1 meter diving (168.8) and 3 meter diving (166.8). He got fourth in both events. Crowley swam to a 3rd place with a seasonal best time of 51.27 in the 100 free. This was a great time for Crowley for the beginning of the season. Also in the 100 free, Edwards did well getting a seasonal best with a time of 1:04.33. Jackson added his own seasonal best to the list in the 500 Free with a time of 6:04.46.

With a lot of seasonal best and some life time best times, the Principia College men did well against Lincoln. While losing to them in points, the Panthers left the pool knowing they gave it everything they had.

Our next meet will be the Grinnell College Pioneer Classic in Grinnell, Iowa on December 3rd and 4th. It is going to be a blast!
