Lady Panthers hit well but lose two to Blackburn

The Prinicpia women's softball program, back on the diamond this year for the first time in more than a decade, is beginning to put together better games with each outing.  Today, they lost a pair of games to Blackburn this afternoon 7-5 and 11-2 in their best offensive output this year.  There were more base runners, more base hits, and more runs scored in a double header yet this season.  Unfortunately defensive errors and mental lapses once again came back to haunt the team.

The first game saw Prin rally in the 6th inning and get close but couldn't find that one more hit that would have tied the game.  Andie Raffles went 2 for 3, Marina Whitney drew 2 walks and was hit by a pitch to find her way on base three times.  Jocelyn Shoemake, Marianna Distel and Tavia Patterson all got on base with one hit each.

Game two was close for a while but four defensive errors let it get out of hand.  Offensively there were more good things going on as  Prin had base runners every inning.  Lucia Rooker and Bekah Charlston were both 2 for 3 in game 2 while Andie Raffles, Marianna Distel and Priscilla Alarcon each had one hit.
