Men's soccer fold under pressure against Capital University

DELAWARE, OHIO -- The Principia men's soccer team suffered their fourth loss of the season to Capital University in their second match at the Fred Myers Adidas Invitational at Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon. The match which began in light rainfall became a downpour on the score sheet as the Crusaders cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over the Panthers.

Two defensive lapses resulted in two early goals for the Crusaders to settle the score in the first half. In the second half, the Panthers held their own as they pinned the Crusaders deep on their end of the pitch but were unfortunate to come up empty. The Crusaders then responded with a counterattack goal to bury the Panthers late in the second half. Despite a tough weekend in Delaware, the Panthers now look to capitalize on the experience as they move forward into the meat of the season. Senior Spencer Brown and junior net minder Samuel Thomas were named to the all-tournament team for their efforts over the weekend. The Panthers now get ready for another battle in search of that elusive first win against local foe Lindenwood College-Belleville on Thursday afternoon in Belleville, Ill. at 4:30 PM.
