Women's soccer earns 3-0 victory over Grinnell College

ELSAH, ILL.--  The women's soccer team faced off against Grinnell College today.  Due to a little rain and lightning the game was postponed an hour.  Regardless of the weather, when the whistle blew the Principia women came out ready to play.  Scoring in the first few minutes of the game, Kelly DeWindt riffled the ball one time from outside the 18 yard box into the back of the net.  DeWindt would score again from outside the 18 yard box with a beautiful shot from the left side into the right side of the net over Grinnell's keeper to give Principia the lead 2-0 at the half.

In the second half, Grinnell came out with more intensity and it was a battle back and forth.  However, Principia's backline played solid defense only allowing a few shots on goal all game.  Principia got its second goal of the game when Brie Mayer dribbled the ball into the box only to have her legs swiped from underneath her by a Grinnell defender to grant a penalty kick in which #Alicia Girbes-Pierce would finish into the left side netting giving Principia the end result of 3-0.
