Blackburn College gets Win at Principia in Conference Opener

Box Score ELSAH, ILL. -- Blackburn College got their first conference win Tuesday night against the Gold and Blue of Principia. The game was a hard fought contest that opened conference play for both schools.

Although Principia jumped out to an early 10 point lead, they were unable to maintain their advantage as Blackburn shifted into high gear. Blackburn took a 6 point lead into the locker room at halftime and finshed the game with an 88-73 victory. Once again, "The Principia Seven"  played with great intensity and resolve but fell short as the numbers game came into play. Blackburn's Madison Medley at 6'6" and Brandon Adams also 6'6" played a strong game in the paint, scoring 27 points and pullin down 15 rebounds between them. Blackburn had 10 players that contributed on the scoreboard. Justin MacDonald led Principia with an outstanding performance of 28 points and 13 rebounds. Principia players Kenny Sydness and Colin Angle had 14 and 10 points respectively.

Principia travels to Eureka College this Saturday, 12/3, to play their second conference game of the season. Game time is 3:00 pm.
