Principia loses second conference match-up to Eureka

Box Score Eureka, ILL
The Principia men's basketball team traveled to Eureka College on Saturday and were defeated by the red devils 85-57. Although Principia hung tough throughout the first half and went into halftime only down by 8, the second half was a different story with Eureka exerting their superior size and strength. Kenny Sydness, for Principia, led all scorers with 19 points, but the Eureka team used their depth (eighteen players) and aggressive defense to overpower the Principia seven. The team missed the play of Tommy Heninger, who had been starting but was not able to play in the game. Naveed Hosseinmardi returned to the line-up and gave the Principia gold and blue a needed lift with 10 points, 5 rebounds and several outstanding defensive efforts. Principia will next travel to St. Louis on Tuesday night to play NAIA rival, Missouri Baptist University. The game will begin at 7:30 CDT.
