Box Score JACKSONVILLE, ILL.
The Principia Panthers traveled to MacMurray College on Tuesday night for a men's conference basketball match-up. The Highlanders from MacMurray jumped out to a 17-2 lead in the first 5 minutes before the Panthers were able to shift gears and get in the game. It was a 14 point spread at half time and a 16 point loss at game's end. An argument could be made that the game was lost in those first 5 minutes.
Colin Angle led the Panthers with 17 points, followed by
Kenny Sydness,
Justin MacDonald, and
Stanley Beal all in double figures. Once again Principia had difficulty finding the bottom of the net and ended up shooting just 38% from inside the arc, 15% from outside the arc, and 64% from the charity stripe. MacMurray, on the other hand, shot 53% form 2 point range, 34% from 3 point, and 50% from the freethrow line. The Panthers did out - rebound the highlanders by 1, 40-39. The final score was highlanders 88-Panthers 72. Principia will next host Westminster College on Thursday night, 1/12, tip-off 8:00 pm.
