Panthers fall short against the Westminster College Blue Jays

Box Score FULTON, MO. -- Thursday night the Principia Panthers travel to Fulton, Mo. for the second meeting of the year against conference rival Westminster College. The Blue Jays came out firing on all cylinders and took a 15 point half time advantage into the locker room. On the historic sight where Winston Churchill once spoke, the Panthers made their last stand but came up short by a final score of 76-54. Sophomore Damon Wilgus had his first start of the season and led the Gold and Blue with 17 points and several great hustle plays. Sophomore Kenny Sydness who had been scoring so well for the Panthers got in early foul trouble and ended up being a non factor. Matt Jones had 8 points on the night for Principia. The Blue Jays showed very good team work  and great intensity for their 5th conference win of the season. The Panthers will next travel to Greenville College on Thursday night still in seach of their first conference victory of the season. Tipoff will be at 8:00 pm.
